The Republic is going strong, its Jedi keeping peace and ensuring that no harm comes to the ordinary people of the galaxy. The politicians were constantly making strides to increase the peoples comfort and safety, and many of the people were assured that nothing could go wrong. The republic lasted, keeping peace, ensuring tranquility, and governing wisely over its people, despite many trials and attacks by minor groups of dark Jedi and small militia factions.
Then, something horribly wrong happened. A new order, deemed the "Sith" were battling the Jedi, the force of peacekeepers on which the republic had lasted so long because of. This new "Sith Order" was running rampage, battling the Jedi, and recruiting more to the cause. The politicians were trying to calm the people, yet more than a few of them were joining with the Sith order, lending their aid to the red-sabered side of the conflict.
At times, the Sith would go and recruit new members, from worlds not so controlled by the republic to designate them as important to the republic. The Sith called many to their organization, but many fought back, and many as well stood at the side of neutrality.
After the Jedi found that the Sith were recruiting from worlds not under major republic control, they spurred into action to stop the offenders, causing large amounts of panic among the populaces of the cities that were the dueling places of the two sides. Many people turned away from both and became freelancers.
The ordinary people, of which were added suddenly to the large forces of saber-wielding sides, would fight on one side or the other, or not at all. Large groups of people chose the option of staying out of the fight, becoming bandits, "Grey Jedi" or mercenaries. Those who joined on sides of the fight were truly a part of the Order they were in, with the Jedi associating peace and justice to their cause, and the Sith advertising power, the types of people that desured a specific idea over the other would congregate towards the one that fit best with their ideals and ideas. As the battles between Sith and Jedi increase, which side will win? Or, will the sides both destroy each other, sending the people into a miserable existence of anarchy and poverty?
